Clear records. Matching balances.
About this site
This site provides a bank reconciliation worksheet and supporting tools for check schedules, deposit schedules, credit card statement arithmetic, fixed petty cash counts, printable forms and month-end review steps.
How calculations work
The tools run in your browser using self-hosted JavaScript. Dollar inputs are converted into whole cents before addition or subtraction. Invalid amounts are flagged and do not produce a result. The worksheet reports an adjusted bank balance, an adjusted book balance and the difference between them. A matching result means the entered amounts agree arithmetically.
Where the methods come from
The bank and petty cash examples and recordkeeping steps come from IRS Publication 583. Credit card balance arithmetic follows Federal Reserve reporting instructions, with statement categories described by NCUA consumer guidance. The source section on each tool links to the relevant official material.
Published cases and your entries
The worked amounts are static official teaching illustrations. They are not live financial data or recommended balances. Editable tool amounts are supplied by the user. The examples are identified separately so that an edited worksheet does not appear to change the source illustration.
Keeping your work
Entries are stored only in the browser's localStorage when that storage is available. Access is wrapped in error handling so calculations still work when storage is blocked. You can export CSV, print a worksheet or clear saved entries. Use generic references and keep account identifiers in your own records.
